Working Principle Of Salt Chlorine Generator

The working principle of salt chlorine generator is to produce sodium hypochlorite solution by electrolyzing dilute salt water, thereby realizing the disinfection function. The specific process is as follows:

Electrolysis process: When salt water passes through the salt chlorine generator, the salt water is decomposed into chloride ions and hydroxide ions by electrolysis in the electrolytic cell. At the anode, chloride ions lose electrons to generate chlorine gas, and at the cathode, water molecules are reduced to hydrogen gas and hydroxide ions.

Chemical reaction: The generated chlorine gas reacts with water to generate hypochlorous acid (HClO), which has strong oxidizing properties and can kill bacteria and viruses in the water.

Control system: Salt chlorine generators are usually equipped with a microcomputer control system, which can intuitively display parameters such as electrolysis yield percentage, electrode voltage, motor current, and swimming pool brine salinity. Users can control the operation of the equipment by setting different time periods to achieve automatic operation.
